Sometimes it's a steady hand through contractions, or simply sitting beside you so you never feel alone. I don't make decisions for you. I help you feel safe, informed, and confident enough to make the ones that are right for you.

The evidence shows how well water eases the intensity of contractions, and that birthing in water can be a safe option for many families.

In-Home Birth Prep
For families who want real support and education but aren't hiring a doula. It starts with a call to shape the four hours around what matters most to you, then a hands-on in-home session covering comfort measures, early labour planning, partner support, decision-making confidence, and practical postpartum prep. Hands-on practice for pain relief and positions builds confidence for you and your partner both.

What doula services does Birch & Belly offer?

How far do you travel?
I travel anywhere within 20km of Orillia for free. I regularly travel beyond that too, with travel fees based on the distance, always shared with you upfront.
When should I hire a doula?
Many families book during the second trimester, but it's never too early or too late to connect. If I have availability, I'm happy to support you wherever you are in your pregnancy.
Do I still need a doula if I have a supportive partner?
Absolutely. A doula doesn't replace your partner, I support them too. I can suggest comfort measures, answer questions, and help create a calm space so your partner can focus on being present with you instead of feeling like they have to know everything.
What if baby comes early?
I'll still be there, unless I'm attending another birth I'm on call for. In that case my trusted backup doula steps in to support you.
Will you speak for me during labour?
I'm there to help you find your voice, not speak over it. I'll encourage you to ask questions, remind you of your preferences, and help you understand your options so you can make the decisions that feel right for you.
What if I'm feeling anxious, scared, or don't know what I want?
You don't need to have it all figured out before reaching out. Wherever you're starting from, we'll meet you there, with a safe space, honest information, and compassionate support.
